Release Grades to Students

This setting determines the point at which students will be notified of their grades.

To edit this setting, follow the steps below:

1.Log in to the Grade Book.

2.Press the Tools menu.

3.Select WebTests.

4.Select a WebTest by placing a checkmark in the checkbox next to the WebTest name.

5.On the right-hand side of the page, press Additional Settings.

6.From here you will see a drop-down menu with the following options for when to "Release grades to students."

Release Grades to Students:

1.Upon test completion - This option shows the student their score as soon as they submit the WebTest.

2.After the end date/time of the test - This option will show all students their grades once the end date for the test has passed. Note that if an end date and time have not been provided for the test, this option cannot be set.

3.After the date - The test grade will be released to the student at the end of the selected day (11:59 PM). If this option is selected, the field next to the setting will become editable, and the instructor can enter their custom date or select the date by pressing the calendar icon.

4.Upon manual release - The test score will be available when released by the instructor. If this option is selected, you will need to manually release student grades after they complete the exam in one of the following ways:

a.Release grades for all students at once: In the Grade Book from the All Student Scores report by selecting the assignment name and choosing "Release grades to students".
b.Release grades individually for one student at a time: In the Grade Book from the All Student Scores report by selecting a "pending" entry for a student and choosing "Release grade to student".
